In order to differentiate, it is better to know the difference between agencies and freelancers first.

The agency consists of full-time people with full-fledged production equipment are available for a company that carries out various services for you depending upon what you need. The agency includes various types of services like marketing, designing, branding, developing and many more.

Freelancers on the other hand are the independent experts who are not linked to any of the company as a full-time employee. The freelancers specialize in a particular set of skills. They are strictly stuck to the niche they are experts in.

Both the agency and freelancer have its own pros and cons, let’s explore some of them for a better understanding:

Hiring an Agency

  1. Access to resources- when you hire an agency, you usually get yourself into a company that has tons of resources. An agency can get your work done a lot faster and quicker considering the resources are on the house. Since the agency hires people considering their expertise in mind which can help you in getting experts do the work with precision.

2. Speed- when you have access to resources it makes the entire process a lot easier, you have your own team, own resources and ideas unlike the freelancers. There is a huge chance that the agencies are more organised when it comes to work.

3. Specialization and expertise- while creating any type of video, the people who are making the video plays an essential role. So the agency makes it a little easy for you, agencies have an entire team of people who may be just right for you. They hold expertise and the comprehension to hold any type of task as per your requirements.

4. Accountability and scalability- The agencies have a well-established process and procedure to be accountable to someone. This process helps with large and complex projects. If any complex project comes the agency can easily scale up its team and allot it to the particular project.

5.  Communication- One of the major pros of hiring an agency is that they are available to resolve any kind of query and provide you the support you may need. They provide you with the adequate follow up and service strategy on the project and they also make sure that they have regular check in meetings so the clients have the proper update of the project.

6. In-house setup- Normally 90% of the video production agencies/houses have their own setup, with a wide variety of equipment and the team of professionals that carries out the shoot. Companies usually appreciate it as it can be more efficient than that of a freelancer.

Hiring a Freelancer

    1. Cost effectiveness- Freelancers generally have low cost as compared to that of an agency. If your product has a small and tight budget, hiring freelancers can be the suitable option as they can result in affordable rates.

    1. Portfolio assessment- You can easily judge a freelancer with the help of their portfolio which contains all of the work they have worked in the past.

    1. Personal attention- Freelancers usually take up one project at a time which can result in undivided attention to one client at a time.

    1. Time efficient- If you are a company who needs to get a project done in a short period of time, freelancers can be a good choice for them.

Hiring a agency will definitely help you to get a chance for best results out of the best ideas and made with utmost sincerity. Scripts in Corporate Films are an essential aspect which can make or break the film. It is through the script that a person truly understands the What and the How. The Effectiveness of Scripts is entirely dependent on our understanding of the consumer’s interests and needs. The content cannot be process-centric as it is not of interest to the consumer. Similarly the script must be not be too long or full of jargons which confuse rather than explain.

Scripts must focus on the Major Pillars of Industry

Infrastructure
Competencies
Innovative Technology/Innovation
End-Product

Infrastructure: Infrastructure includes the facilities, the maximum capacity, daily output and features of the plants and how they can be useful to the consumer.

Competencies: These include the ability of the plant to create the desired product and the variations possible. The ability to create high quality products must be emphasized.

Innovative Technology or Innovation: Success requires innovation. Only through innovation does one stand out and produce outcome consumer will want. The unique selling points must be highlighted through the script.

End Product: The most important part which the consumer will be interested in is the end-product. All the features of the end product must be showcased clearly.

Another essential aspect may surprise you but the ‘When’ of a scripting is also extremely important. At first the outline or concept of shooting must be determined and then based on that, the filming takes place. Scripting is done after the footage has been shot.

Variations in production may change the initial concept and are dependent on the parameters of the day of shooting. The footage captured determine what must be written and what will be shown.

Scripts written before shooting are not accurate and create hurdles. Rather scripting must be done after the shooting in order to avoid inconsistencies.

Writer’s block, lacks of inspiration, creative slowdown, we writers are well aware of all the ways our writing gets delayed, and it is not something we do willingly but mostly there is just no inspiration to write. Writing fresh and innovatively is an art. But, there are times our ideas get dried off. These are the times when we become anxious. Coming up with new concepts is one of the biggest challenge for every writer. Once the concept is set, writing starts to flow.

This blog will help you get over your block and begin afresh with a great concept for a video. Here are a few tips to break your block,

Inspiration can be Anywhere:
The best way to come up with new concepts is to keep your eyes and ears always open. A good writer is extremely attentive and observant. You can only deliver high quality concepts when you know the world too well. A writer must look for stories all around.

Do some Research:
When I say look around, I don’t just mean the world, a writer must look around everywhere i.e. the real world as well as the virtual world. Sometimes the best of ideas come through the idea of someone else. Watching videos regularly on YouTube, Vimeo might give rise to something phenomenal.

Read, Read, Read:
Books are a writer’s best friend. There need not be any specific book or genre, just read anything and everything. Reading not only improves your vocabulary, it also improves the writing style and imbibes new ideas. Books have the power to open you to a whole new world.

Brainstorm with your Team:
Another extremely effective trick to come up with new ideas for a video is to start brainstorming with other people. Sometimes, words from one person can start a series of thoughts and end up becoming a great idea.

Talk to Everyone:
Wherever you go, whoever you meet, try and talk to everyone. Meeting new people and understanding new perspectives will give rise to exceptional ideas. These ideas will be unique and original.

Get some fresh Air:
Another interesting technique to clear your head and invite new ideas is to go on a walk alone, without your phone or music. Just spend some time alone with nature. This will definitely give you a new perspective and probably the words will start to flow in no time.

Just Write:
Last but not the least, if you need to come up with an idea, just pick up a notebook and pen and start writing. You need not write anything relevant, but just write. This will definitely improve your mental clog and your ideas will start to flow.

A video without a script is like a person without thoughts. It is good to say, the script provides the structure for the entire film, if the script is not up to the mark, it won’t be easy to make a good film. The script is the backbone, on which the entire film stands.

A good corporate video script successfully conveys the message in an interesting, clear and concise manner so that by the end of the video, the audience is entertained and has grasped information that was being communicated.

Here are the important tips to make up a great video script.

Know your audience:
Before you begin writing your script, clear your head and think about the intended audience. Once you have structuralized your audience, you need to do your research as to what type of content will work for this target audience. For example, if you are making a video for pre-school, your audience will be parents of young children, in that case, emotional and inspirational content would be most effective. Also, make sure the tone and language of the video resonates with the target audience.

Write a Video Brief:
Once you have recognized the target audience, set the objectives of the video. These objectives would be in accordance to the message that you need to convey with the video. A brief must include the reason why you are making this video, what the video needs to convey, who is your target, what is it that you want to do once the video is complete, and what technical details the video must incorporate.

Develop a story to tell your message:
Humans are social beings. No matter what the context, humans are drawn towards stories and emotions. You must keep this in mind while writing your corporate script as well. Never make a corporate script too formal. Keep a human element attached to the script no matter what the product is. For example, if your client is someone who makes medical instruments, draft a script that talks about the marvel that is human body.

Make the first 15 seconds engaging:
The first 15 seconds of a video are the most important ones. The first 15 seconds decide if the viewer will watch the video further or stop mid-way. With so much power to the audience, holding the audience with immersive content has become exceptionally challenging. While writing the script, there must be a terrific cliff hanger at 10 or 15 seconds.

Keep the mystery alive
While writing the script, you must never describe everything or give all information away. Always remember, there is a major difference in novel writing and script writing. While writing a novel, you do not have any other aid for description; while in scriptwriting, your video will have visual elements, sound effects etc. to enhance your concept. It is advised to use these elements rather than explaining everything.

Clarity is important:
Sometimes when we write a corporate or an industrial script, we end up writing very technical and complicated content. Such scripts are difficult to understand for a layman. We must always try to write a script that is clear and easy to understand so that anyone who watches the video, even if the audience doesn’t know the technicalities, they understand the processes and the basics of the business.

Read, Review, Re-write
As soon as you are done writing the script, you must read the script end to end once. Most of the times, we find few mistakes when we read it twice or thrice. Keep reading and updating the script until you are completely satisfied.

These tips will help you create a good video script for your next corporate video. To create an engaging video, a good script is key. Make sure you write an exceptional video script to make your video marketing campaign a success.

There is no extent of writing
Keep track of your writings each day and try to exceed that. Writing more will let you open to your magnitude of writing. As you write, you get flare in expressing yourself with beautiful vocabulary. It is perfectly said by Stephanie Allain that the more you write and the more you free yourself from outside expectation and the more you freely express yourself, that’s how you’ll start to find your authentic voice.

Be a Passionate Writer
You can’t write when you want but you write when you have to. Show your compassion for the words and phrases and ask yourself after every paragraph if you have said what you really wanted to say in simple & minimal words. Feel the essence of your content. Once you make writing your passion, you won’t have to take out time for it but it will happen habitually.

Let your imaginations fly high
Don’t hesitate to write what you have imagined. It is always a best practice to write with an open imagination. To tell a great story you need to let your observations flow and imagine your characters &s places. Explore and experience your inner virtues by articulating your content in best possible way. Write what you first imagine as soon as you think about something.

Make rewriting a habit
You might write badly at first, this is why it is advised to rewrite. You write, rewrite, and then rewrite until you are satisfied. Polish your script so you feel it is so good that there’s nothing else you can do. You might notice it yourself; even the best writings of yours would have scope of rewriting. While rewriting, you get to know where you have to emphasis further and what things need to be said in a different way.

Write your heart out
You have to write about what you feel, what you care, and what you want to share with your readers. Don’t always strive for perfection otherwise you will start doubting yourself much before you write. Share your ideas, emotions, feelings in a flow. Filtering of thoughts may lead to forcible writing which is not a true writing. A true writing comes when you write like you bleed. Don’ think, just write.
